A Message from Pastor Burk

Brother and Sisters in Christ,

I believe and see that we are coming out of the tunnel of over a year of
lockdowns, quarantines, and altered culture. Things seem to be improving as there are positive signs for a vaccine and everyone is understanding the numbers of this Wuhan virus much better every day. At least that is my hope.
I want to encourage everyone as we move forward to do what they feel comfortable with. If you are comfortable coming back to worship please do. If you are still worried about gathering at church feel free to remain at home. If you remain home please take at least 5 minutes to
worship our Holy Savior. Make a quiet place, have a worship plan/outline, and don’t plan anything for 5 minutes surrounding your worship time.
I would challenge you on this, however. If you go to other gatherings wearing a mask and sitting next to people how is that any less risky than worship? Christ Lutheran worship requires masks at all times, cleaning everything between services, pews are roped off, and we encourage
social distancing. How is that riskier than any other gatherings you attend?

NOW is the time to search your soul and be honest.
Again, to make sure you are hearing me clearly. If you feel you need to stay home please do so with a blessing. I don’t want anyone to be forced into anything they don’t have to be forced into. Some people need to be extra safe, but some people are just making excuses. I want us to
be aware and discerning of the moment. Worship is essential. And using our common sense and reason is essential.
If you do choose to stay home please watch the sermon online and make time every day for your worship life. Pray, use the catechism guide I put out, and read scripture. We must tend our soul and that of our neighbor. There is much to do and little time to do it. Let us all prepare ourselves to serve the Lord daily. The best way to prepare is daily worship. Please contact me if you have any questions. I would love to hear from you!

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (Jn11:25-26)
