Annual Congregation Meeting November 19th

Our church’s annual congregation meeting is on November 19th after our second service. We will be electing church council, approve a budget for 2018, approve ELCA constitution updates and more. All confirmed church members are encouraged to attend. Your voice does matter! Show your interest in our congregation’s future as we do God’s work in this place and beyond.

Women of the ELCA

The officers of the Women of ELCA will  hold their annual planning meeting for the new year on Saturday, November 18th beginning at 8:00 am. The group will meet in the fellowship hall.

Also, save the date of December 9th for the WELCA annual Christmas Brunch. It will start at 9:00 am in the church fellowship hall. All women are welcome to attend.

Veterans Day Celebration Sunday November 12th

A special dinner will be held at 11:45 am to honor all the military veterans in our congregation. The meal will be catered this year, and is being sponsored by the Women of ELCA. A sign up sheet will be available in the church fellowship hall and narthex. Please let us know if you will be able to attend. We will have a slid show recognizing our veterans. If you haven’t already done so, all those who have served in the military are asked to bring a picture from your service days. You may bring them to the church office and we will scan them and return to you immediately. Or you may email a picture to Dawn Young at dyoung@gvec.net

All Saints’ Celebration Sunday, November 5th

This year all Saints’ Sunday is November 5th, and we will celebrate at both services with our traditional walk out to the cemetery as we remember Christ Lutheran Members who died since last All Saints’ Sunday.

After the 10:30  service there will be a potluck dinner as we join in fellowship of all God’s saints. Bring your favorite potluck meal or dessert to share!

October 29th Reformation Festival Sunday

Pastor Bonnie Claycomb will lead us in our celebration of the heart of our faith: the Gospel of Christ – the good news – that makes us free. We will remember the theologian and reformer Martin Luther and his passion and courage to speak out for the sake of the Gospel.

Our 8:00 am and 10:30 am worship services (communion both services) will also include the Commissioning of Christian Education Teachers and Mentors.

Also at 9:15 am we will offer our Sunday School. All ages are welcome to join.

Reformation 500 October 15th

We will be lead in worship by Bishop Ray Tiemann on October 15th to include our 8:00 am and 10:30 am worship services with communion at the 10:30 service. We will also have a dedication ceremony for our new playground between the 2 services at 9:15. We will continue our fellowship with playground fun at 9:45 or you may choose to take a moment and visit with Bishop Tillman in the Sanctuary.

After our second service, there will also host a potluck lunch to show our appreciation to our Bishop for his service to us.
